2025 SEASON (SOPHOMORE)
- First-year starter after winning the job at right tackle out of preseason camp, ultimately starting in all 14 games … battled with Hunter Zambrano throughout spring practices and preseason camp for the right tackle spot … youngest member of an offensive line that utilized the same starting five in every game.
- Credited with 942 offensive snaps by Pro Football Focus, which ranked third on the team behind only center Sheridan Wilson (962) and right guard Davion Carter (949) … vast majority of snaps came at right tackle - 926 to be exact … moved over to left tackle briefly in each of the first two games of the season against Arkansas-Pine Bluff (8/30) and Kent State (9/6).
- Ranked as Texas Tech’s top run blocker along the offensive line by Pro Football Focus … received a 73.8 grade as a run blocker, giving him a 69.2 overall offensive grade … publication charged him with six sacks allowed on the year and 23 pressures over 496 pass-blocking opportunities for 97.1 efficiency rating.
- Part of a Red Raider offense that ranked seventh nationally in scoring at an impressive 39.4 points per game … marked the Red Raiders’ single-season scoring average since 2016 when Patrick Mahomes II was finishing his three-year career in Lubbock … the Red Raiders were also 10th nationally for total offense at 461.4 yards per game behind a balanced attack that had Texas Tech ranked 15th nationally in passing and 33rd in rushing.
- AWARDS AND HONORS: an honorable mention All-Big 12 selection by the conference coaches … also tabbed to the Freshman All-America Team compiled by The Athletic and the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA) … became first Red Raider to be named to the FWAA Freshman All-America team since punter Austin McNamara in 2019 and the first Red Raider freshman to be honored by any organization since linebacker Ben Roberts in 2023 ... only the sixth Red Raider to receive Freshman All-America accolades by the FWAA since the organization started presenting the award in 2011, joining the likes of defensive tackle Colby Whitlock (2007), wide receiver Michael Crabtree (2007), offensive lineman Le'Raven Clark (2012), defensive back Adrian Frye (2018) and McNamara (2019).
2024 SEASON (FRESHMAN)
- Redshirt season … scout team member … appeared in four games overall as a true freshman with one start, which came in the AutoZone Liberty Bowl versus Arkansas (12/27).
- Made his collegiate debut in the second half of Texas Tech’s rout of North Texas (9/14) … graded out at 85.3 by Pro Football Focus over his eight offensive snaps against the Mean Green … inserted at left tackle twice during Big 12 play against both Colorado (11/9) and West Virginia (11/30).
- Filled in as the starter at left tackle in the bowl game, playing 71 total snaps versus Arkansas … one of three true freshman to start that game offensively, joining quarterback Will Hammond and running back J’Koby Williams … allowed only one pressure - a quarterback hurry - over 36 pass blocking opportunities against the Razorbacks in a strong debut … credited with 101 offensive snaps on the season by PFF.
HIGH SCHOOL
- Attended Dripping Springs High School in the Austin area … one of the top offensive line prospects in the country due to his size and athleticism … played primarily at right tackle as a junior before moving to the left side his senior season.
- Helped push Dripping Springs to the Class 6A Division II regional finals each of his final two seasons … the Tigers finished 11-3 overall, reaching the 11-win mark for only the fifth time in program history … recognized on the All-District 26-6A first team each of his final two seasons.
- Received his first collegiate offer from the Texas Tech staff … considered a four-star prospect by On3 and a three-star recruit by Rivals, ESPN and 247Sports … listed as one of the nation’s top offensive linemen by On3, ranking as high as No. 15 among offensive tackles nationally and No. 31 among prospects in the state of Texas … publication also listed him at No. 176 among all recruits nationally.
- A top-100 recruit in Texas by both 247Sports and Rivals as well … ranked No. 52 at offensive tackle by 247Sports and No. 97 overall among Texas recruits … also No. 64 among offensive tackles in the country by Rivals as well as No. 98 among prospects in Texas … CHOSE TEXAS TECH OVER: Houston, Texas State and Tulsa.
