- Attended New Boston High School in his hometown New Boston, Texas … one of the top two-way players in the state, lining up as not only a running back during his career but also at wide receiver and then at safety, linebacker and defensive end defensively … joined the Red Raider running back room upon his arrival to campus.
- Helped push New Boston to the Class 3A Division II playoffs as both a junior and senior … limited to only seven games as a senior but still racked up 955 all-purpose yards and 13 touchdowns on only 104 carries … previously exploded on the recruiting map with 1,700 yards and 22 touchdowns as a junior.
- Tabbed the District 10-3A Division II Offensive Most Outstanding Player following both his sophomore and junior seasons … shared Co-Offensive Newcomer of the Year honors for District 10-3A his sophomore year as well after rushing for 1,337 yards and 14 touchdowns.
