Red Raiders prepare for NCAA Regional

Texas Tech set for Lubbock Regional with Ole Miss, Boston University and Marist
LUBBOCK, Texas – The No. 11-seeded Red Raiders are set to host their second-straight NCAA Regional this weekend beginning with a 3:30 p.m. game against the regional fourth-seed Marist.
The Red Raider Club will be hosting a tailgate, courtesy of the Sellers Family, for fans beginning at 1 p.m. all three days and ending at the end of Texas Tech's game. The tailgate will feature free drinks and food, along with giveaways and inflatables

Mihyia Davis is one of the most valuable players in the country and has been that way her whole career. Among active players she ranks first in hits (336), at-bats (829) and stolen bases (136). She also ranks third in runs (233) and third in games played (246). She is the only active players with 300 hits.
NiJaree Canady continues to make history. The reigning National Pitcher of the Year eclipsed 1,000 strikeouts for her career after striking out against BYU. Canady is just one of two active players with 1,000 career K's and the only active player with 1,000 K's and 97 wins. Canady threw her first career perfect game against Baylor on senior day as she looks to be in postseason form.
Kaitlyn "KT" Terry has been arguably the team's best player so far this season. She leads the team with a .471 batting average, which is also sixth best in the country, and also has a 1.30 ERA and a 22-1 record. Terry also set the school record with a 24-game hit streak and had a 36-game on base streak up until last weekend.
As a team, the Red Raiders have more than 100 NCAA Tournament games, 300 at-bats and 180 innings pitched. Canady has 157.0 postseason innings pitched and has an ERA of 1.47. Davis leads on offense with a .438 batting average thanks to 32 hits. The postseason experienced group will look to make a run.
Jasmyn Burns has been on fire the past few weeks. The junior catcher hit four home runs in four games including a grand slam in the bottom of the first on Saturday against Baylor. Burns is now batting over .360 with 17 home runs and 54 RBI.
The Red Raiders had 7 All-Big 12 selections, which was tied with Arizona for the most. Gerry Glasco was named Coach of the Year for the second straight season and NiJaree Canady was named Co-Pitcher of the Year, the second straight season she's won a share of the award. Canady was joined by Kaitlyn Terry, Mia Williams and Jackie Lis on the First Team while Taylor Pannell, Jasmyn Burns and Mihyia Davis were named to the Second Team. Canady and Pannell were also named to the All-Defense Team.
