Big 12 announces softball schedule for 2027 season

The reigning Big 12 champions will defend their title starting March 12
LUBBOCK, Texas – The Big 12 announced the schedule for the 2027 softball season this afternoon.
The Red Raiders will host four series and be on the road for four series starting on March 12-14 when Kansas comes to Tracy Sellers Field. Tech will play in Lubbock for the first weekend of Big 12 play before they travel to Baylor (March 19-21), return home to face UCF (March 26-28) and head to Ames and face Iowa State (April 2-4) to complete the first half of league play.
Tech opens the second half of Big 12 in Tucson to take on Arizona (April 16-18) then host Houston (April 23-25) before facing Oklahoma State (April 30-May 2) and then close the season against Arizona State (May 6-8) at Tracy Sellers Field in a rematch of the Big 12 Tournament championship game.
Gerry Glasco enters his third season with the Red Raiders and is a dominating 41-7 through his first two years in the Big 12, winning the regular season title both years, and has yet to lose a conference series dating back to his first season at Louisiana.
The Red Raiders will enter the 2027 season in a similar spot as they did last year, coming off an appearance in the WCWS championship series after winning the Big 12 and then adding the No. 1 transfer portal class in the country in the offseason. The core of the team returns and new coaches Jeff Cottrill and Shelby Pendley bring championship-level experience alongside Glasco and Tara Archibald.
All times for the games are to be determined but every series will be played Friday-Sunday but are subject to change.
