LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech women's tennis team opens its Big 12 schedule this Saturday when it hosts in-state rival TCU at the McLeod Tennis Center.

ABOUT THE LADY RAIDERS
The Lady Raiders come into Saturday's match against the Horned Frogs having won four in a row after sweeps over New Mexico and Abilene Christian last weekend. Tech is 6-1 on the season and 3-0 in home matches. Kaitlin Staines has started the last handful of matches at the No. 1 singles position, taking home Big 12 Player of the Week honors a week ago for her top-40 win to push Tech to an upset over No. 23 Arizona State. Margarita Skriabina and Olivia Peet are both 4-0 in dual singles matches. Tech is a combined 22-6 in dual singles matches and 11-5 in doubles.

LADY RAIDERS IN THE ITA RANKINGS
For the second straight week, the Lady Raiders are receiving votes in the ITA team rankings. Tech has one ranked singles player and one ranked doubles team in the latest individual poll as well. In doubles, Kaitlin Staines and Nell Miller come in at No. 43. Staines also appears in the singles poll, slotted at No. 100.

LAST TIME OUT
The Texas Tech women's tennis team expanded its win streak to four on Monday at the McLeod Tennis Center, sweeping New Mexico, 4-0. The Lady Raiders (6-1) made quick work of the Lobos, picking up two quick doubles wins to take the doubles point before going on to win three straight-set singles matches on the way to their second-straight sweep. Overall, the match was finished well within two hours.

SCOUTING THE FROGS
Heading into this weekend's match with the Lady Raiders, TCU is 5-3 on the season, coming off a 5-1 loss to No. 18 UCF in Fort Worth on Thursday. The Horned Frogs have racked up wins over Abilene Christian, Tarleton State, North Texas, Sam Houston State and Samford, while falling to Texas A&M and LSU. TCU has three ranked singles players, led by No. 46 Tate Schroeder, along with No. 68 Marie Norris and No. 75 Alisa Soloveva.

LOOKING AHEAD
The Lady Raiders will be back in action next weekend when they travel to Oklahoma for a nonconference match on March 5, before heading to Waco to face Baylor on March 7.
