Lady Raiders on the road this weekend

LUBBOCK, Texas – The No. 34 Texas Tech Lady Raiders are on the road for two matches at No. 14 Arizona State this Friday at 7 p.m. CT and at No. 35 Arizona in Tucson, Ariz., on Sunday at 1 p.m. CT.
Texas Tech (14-7, 5-4 Big 12) is coming off a senior day victory against the Colorado Buffaloes last Saturday. In doubles, the pairings of Yekaterina Dmitrichenko/Hailey Murphy and Mariia Hlahola/Elena Daskalova won their matches to give the Lady Raiders the doubles point. Then in singles, Daskalova, Havana Kadi and Ella Brownback recorded wins to give Tech a 4-0 sweep.
Leading Texas Tech in dual singles wins is Murphy with 11 wins and nine of those coming at the top of the lineup. Just behind her are both Kadi and Hlahola with eight wins apiece. No. 55-ranked Dmitrichenko and Murphy lead the team with a 17-3 dual doubles record on the season, all coming at court one. Dasaklova and Hlahola are second on the team with eight dual wins.
Scouting the Opponents
The No. 14 Arizona State Dun Devils are 15-4 overall and 7-2 in Big 12 play this year. Currently on a five-match winning streak, the Sun Devils have key wins over Kansas, Arizona, Baylor and Pepperdine. Their two recent losses were against UCF and TCU. Arizona State is led in dual singles by Vivian Ovrootsky, who boasts a perfect 15-0 record, with 12 of those wins coming at court three. No. 26-ranked Emilija Tverijonaite is second on the team with a 12-2 dual record a court one. The Sun Devils have two teams with a team-best five dual wins this year in Ovrootsky/Tverijonaite and Aiya Nupbay/Lily Taylor.
The No. 35 Arizona Wildcats are 15-8 on the season and 6-3 in conference play. Arizona has also one its last five matches, with key victories against Kansas, Iowa State and Xavier. Their three Big 12 losses cam against Arizona State, TCU and Baylor. The Wildcats are led in dual singles wins by both Tanvi Narendran and No. 125 Maryna Ostrzygalo with 13 wins each. In dual doubles, Maria Garcia and Josie Usereau lead the way with an 11-3 record and a perfect 7-0 conference record.
