February 20, 2026 | Women's Basketball
LUBBOCK, Texas – The No. 20 Texas Tech Lady Raiders are on the road for a game against the Colorado Buffaloes in Boulder, Colo., on Saturday at 8 p.m. CT in the CU Events Center. The Lady Raiders lead the all-time series against the Buffaloes, 19-6, winning the last meeting on March 1, 2025 by an 83-79 score in overtime. Tech has won six of the last seven meetings against Colorado dating back to 2008.
Texas Tech (24-4, 11-4 Big 12) is tied for second in the Big 12 regular season standings with Baylor and West Virginia and is only one win behind the leader, TCU, who is 12-3 in Big 12 play. Tech is 4-0 against those three teams this season, holding the tiebreaker if tied for first at the end of the year. For this to hold, the Lady Raiders would need to win out and TCU needs to lose at least one game.
Seniors Bailey Maupin and Snudda Collins are on a heater right now. Maupin has recorded 20+ point games in three of the last four contests, averaging 22.3 points per game over those four games. Collins has totaled three-straight double-digit performances, with a recent 23-point outing to lead the Lady Raiders against No. 15 Baylor on Wednesday. Collins is averaging 19.3 points per game in the last three games.
Texas Tech recorded its third top-15 win of the season, tying for the most in the Big 12 with West Virginia, after taking down No. 15 Baylor by an 87-56 score. The 31-point win margin was the best against a ranked opponent since at least 2000 and the second largest win over Baylor in the last 30 years. Texas Tech swept the Bears for the first time in a season since 2003-04 and got a win in Lubbock over Baylor for the first time since 2011. This victory was also the second 31-point win over a Big 12 opponent this season since beating Arizona on Jan. 3, 80-49... The last time before the Arizona game that Tech defeated a team by that much in conference play was on Jan. 15, 2005.
The Lady Raiders have outscored Big 12 opponents by 64 points in second quarters this season, totaling 278 points to opposing teams' 214 points during conference play. Against Baylor on Wednesday, Tech outscored the Bears 26-13 in the second period, heading into the half with a 48-28 lead. Overall, Texas Tech has outscored all opponents this season by 162 points in second quarters, totaling 528 points to their 366 points. The Lady Raiders are 21-0 when leading teams at halftime and when posting a higher field goal percentage. Tech is 20-0 when opponents shoot below 40 percent from the field and 19-2 when shooting above 40 percent themselves.
