Colorado defeats No. 20 Tech on Saturday

BOULDER, Colo. – Despite three players scoring in double-figures and the team shooting 57.8 percent from the field, the No. 20-ranked Texas Tech Lady Raiders were defeated by the Colorado Buffaloes, 75-68, on Saturday evening at the CU Events Center.
Texas Tech (24-5, 11-5 Big 12) was led in scoring by junior Jalynn Bristow, who posted 18 points on 83.3 percent shooting from the field (5-for-6) and 80.0 percent shooting from behind the arc (4-for-5). Bristow went 4-for-4 from the free-throw line and picked up a team-best five blocks and three steals against Colorado (20-8, 11-5 Big 12). In addition, her four 3-pointers and three assists were career-highs.
Senior Snudda Collins went for 13 points in the game on 4-for-7 shooting from the field (.571). Collins added three assists, three rebounds and a block as she totaled her 25th double-figure scoring game of the year. Senior Bailey Maupin was just behind with 12 points on 5-for-11 shooting (.454), while recording two steals and two assists for her team-leading 26th double-digit scoring game.
Senior Gemma Núñez recorded her 500th career assist as she tallied a team-high five in the game. Seniors Jada Malone and Sarengbe Sanogo added eight points apiece, while Denae Fritz posted a season-high three blocks on the night. The Lady Raiders shot 26-for-45 from the field (.578) and 7-for-13 from behind the arc (.538). Texas Tech added 14 assists, nine steals and 10 blocks in the game, while forcing 19 Colorado turnovers.
Up next, the Lady Raiders head to Lawrence, Kan., to take on the Kansas Jayhawks this Wednesday, Feb. 25 at 6:30 p.m.
