
Tech competes in two tournaments this week

LUBBOCK, Texas – The Lady Raiders are set to compete in two tournaments beginning this week as they go to Colorado Springs, Colo., for the ITA Bedford Cup in the Mountains hosted by Air Force as well as Cary, N.C., for the ITA All-American Championships. The Bedford Cup will take place Sept. 19-21, while the ITA All-American Championships run from Sept. 20-28.

The players going to Colorado are Ella Brownback, Elena Daskalova, Kseniia Logvin and Polina Sleptsova. Those heading to the ITA All-American Championships are Yekaterina Dmitrichenko, Mariia Hlahola and Hailey Murphy.

Tech is coming off its first tournament of the season at the Furman Fall Classic in Greenville, S.C. At that competition, the Lady Raiders totaled 12 overall wins, highlighted by Brownback and Sleptsova winning their doubles flight with a perfect 3-0 record. The No. 49-ranked duo of Dmitrichenko and Hlahola went to the finals of their doubles flight and ended the tournament with a 2-1 record. In singles, Brownback, Sleptsova and Dmitrichenko all tallied two wins as Dmitrichenko advanced to her flight finals.

ITA Bedford Cup In the Mountains
Format
Play starts at 10:15 a.m. CT on Friday and Saturday. On Sunday, play will start at 10:45 a.m. CT.

Friday – First two rounds of doubles followed by the opening round of singles.
Saturday – One round of doubles and singles
Sunday – All remaining doubles and singles

Singles matches will be best of three tiebreak sets with full third round sets in the main draw. Back draw will be playing a 10-point tiebreaker in the event of a third set. Doubles matches will be one set to six. Draws can be found here and a live stream will be available for the first eight courts for home team matches.

ITA All-American Championships
Dmitrichenko (qualifying doubles & singles), Hlahola (prequalifying singles, qualifying doubles) and Murphy (prequalifying singles) look to advance to the NCAA Individual Championships at the end of the fall. Ten singles players will qualify for the NCAA Singles Championship (eight main draw quarterfinalists & two feed-in consolation finalists), and four doubles teams (four main draw semifinalists) will qualify for the NCAA Doubles Championship through the All-American Championships. Play begins each day at 8 a.m. CT.
