
Lady Raiders earn 15 wins at ITA Bedford Cup

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Behind an impressive performance from freshman Kseniia Logvin, the Texas Tech Lady Raiders closed out the ITA Bedford Cup in the Mountains tournament with 15 total wins. Logvin highlighted the competition by winning the doubles and singles back draws in her collegiate debut.
To start off the Bedford Cup, Elena Daskalova and Logvin dropped the first doubles match in their flight but battled back to win the consolation draw in the following days. In the back draw, the Lady Raider duo first defeated Idaho's Hanna Koprowska and Naomi Schraeder, 6-4, before taking down Colorado State's Annika Planinsek and Diana Lizarazo, 6-2. They won the doubles consolation finals with a 6-4 win over Air Force's Sofia Mavor and Shivaani Selvan on the final day of the tournament.
In addition to winning the doubles consolation, Logvin would also claim the singles consolation title in her flight. After falling in a hard-fought match on day one, she bounced back and defeated Claudia Martinez de Velasco (Denver), 6-0, 6-0, and Koprowska, 6-4, 6-3. In the finals, she took down host team's Sofia Mavor of Air Force by a 3-6, 6-3, 1-0 (12) score to clinch the consolation. Daskalova reached the singles semifinals of her flight's consolation draw after beating Idaho State's Asem Shoybek, 6-4, 6-0. She also added a win against Koprowska on the last day of competition, 6-4, 6-2.
Both Ella Brownback and Polina Sleptsova went 2-1 in doubles at the Bedford Cup after recording wins over Stefanya Shalakhova and Shoybek (Idaho State), 6-3, as well as Sorcha Caves and Stella Morgan (Colorado State), 6-4, to advance to the quarterfinals of their flight.
In singles, Sleptsova earned a semifinals appearance in the top flight after beating Zoe Adkins (Denver), 2-6, 6-3, 7-6 (5) and Luana Avelar (Colorado State), 6-4, 4-6, 7-6 (2). Brownback would also reach the quarterfinals of the same flight with a victory against Denver's Louise Wikander, 6-3, 6-4. Brownback added two more singles wins in the tournament when she overtook Ana Veroux (New Mexico), 6-1, 7-5, and Anya Nelson (Colorado), 7-6 (3), 6-0.
