Women’s tennis snapped a three-match losing streak Sunday
DALLAS -- The Texas Tech women's tennis program got back on track on Sunday afternoon defeating SMU 4-2 at the Styslinger/Altec Tennis Complex
The No. 34 Lady Raiders (7-4) secured their second ranked win of the season when they defeated the 55th-ranked Lady Mustangs (7-6) Sunday.

After dropping the doubles point, Texas Tech rebounded quickly, using a strong performance from Freshman Cristina Tiglea. Tiglea won her second match of the season, winning two and three on court six.

After SMU pulled ahead with a straight-set victory on court four, Olivia Peet was victorious in straight sets against SMU's Hadley Doyle. After winning the opening set 6-4, Peet blanked Doyle 6-0 in the second set.

No. 62 Avelina Sayfetdinova gave Tech the lead for good, when she downed Jackie Nylander by a score of 6-2, 7-5 on court three. Her victory gave her side a 3-2 lead.

With one point to go, Metka Komac battled into her three-set match. After losing the first set 0-6, the sophomore won her next two sets (6-3, 6-4) to win her third straight match and seal the Lady Raiders first road victory of the season (second road match).
