2007 OUTDOOR: Earned All-Big 12 honors in the javelin by placing third ... competed in the javelin event at eight meets ... threw a NCAA regional qualifying mark of 203[apos]-8' at the TCU Invite placing second ... and threw another NCAA regional qualifying mark of 207[apos]-3' a personal best at the Drake Relays. 2007 INDOOR: Redshirted PRIOR TO TECH: Attended the University of Texas at Arlington in 2004... In June 2006, went to San Jacinto College South in Houston, Texas... Threw 197[apos]-4' in the javelin while in college... Amateur experience includes being a member of the 4x400 and 4x800M regionally-qualifying relay squads for USA Track and Field... USA Track and Field regional champion in javelin... Javelin qualifier for USA Track and Field Junior Olympics. HIGH SCHOOL: Attended Pearland High in Pearland, Texas... Participated in baseball, cross country and track and field... As a sophomore, was named to a baseball all-tournament team... Was listed on the Honor Roll and was a member of the National Spanish Honor Society and Student Council. PERSONAL: Born Feb. 22, 1986 to Larry and Margarita Cast in Houston, Texas... Parents are both graduates of Texas A&M... Mother works as a bilingual elementary teacher... Has two sisters, Julie Cast Bullmer, 27, and Lisa, 23... Hobbies include playing and watching sports, working out and playing the piano... Majoring in mechanical engineering with a minor in mathematics... Career plan is to work as a professional mechanical engineer.
