- Emerged into a reliable weekend starter as a sophomore, leading the Red Raiders in innings pitched (83.1), strikeouts (108) and wins (6)
- Finished the year 6-2 with a 3.67 ERA across 16 starts
- Tossed a gem on April 21 vs. Baylor, striking out 12 and allowing just three total base runners across seven scoreless innings
- Recorded a career-high 13 strikeouts in his regular-season finale vs. Kansas
- Made quite the statement in his first career NCAA Tournament start vs. UConn, taking a no-hitter into the sixth inning while striking out 10 and surrendering just one hit

- Named to Big 12 All-Freshman Team
- Appeared in 20 games, including nine starts.
- Was third in the starting rotation over the first seven weeks of the season while eighth start was a midweek on May 3 and ninth was the opening game of the Big 12 tournament. Made the fourth-most starts for the Red Raiders.
- Moved into a bullpen role in early April, owned a 1.96 ERA out of the pen in 11 relief appearances over 18.1 innings of work.
- In total, logged 57.2 innings pitched as a true freshman. The third-most on the team.
- Ranked fourth on the team with 71 strikeouts.
- Of the four pitchers in 2022 that tossed 55 or more innings, owned the best opposing batting average (.215)
- His start in the Big 12 tournament was arguably highlight of the season as he led the team with to a win behind a season-long outing of 6.2 IP and struck out a season-high 10 batters in a 5-3 win (watch) versus Kansas State. The true freshman carried a no-hitter through 6.1 IP in the postseason start and struck out six of the first seven batters he faced.
- Prior to the start in the Big 12 tournament, previous top start came on the road at Iowa on March 20, his fifth career start, when he pitched five complete innings allowing one hit while striking out eight and walking two (watch).
- Had one save, earned on June 5 in the NCAA Statesboro Regional. Needed nine pitches for the final three outs for a 3-1 win and eliminate the host Georgia Southern.
- Struck out five consecutive hitters in second career start, Feb. 27, versus Kent State.
