PRIOR TO TEXAS TECH: Previously at Weatherford Junior College for two seasons. (2021, Freshman*): Made one start and appeared 19 times ... owned a 5-0 record and earned five saves ... pitched 45.2 innings and finished with a 2.96 ERA and 54 strikeouts. (2020, Freshman): Appeared eight times and saw 13.0 innings of work ... owned a 2.08 ERA in his limited action.
HIGH SCHOOL: Awarded District MVP while playing at Brock High School coached by Hart Hering… graduated in 2019 and spent previous summers playing with the Arlington A’s coached by Dave Acton… played Summer 2021 with Five Tool DFW.
PERSONAL: Born in Fort Worth, Texas… son of Jennifer Morris and Jason Lopez … brother to Colby Fowler… University Studies major.
- Saw an increased responsibility out of the bullpen during his second season in Lubbock, finishing the year with 18.0 innings pitched in 16 total appearances
- Finished the season 1-0 with a 5.50 ERA to go along with one save
- Lone win came on March 7 vs. New Mexico
- Entered a one-run game with two on base with two outs in the top of the third inning and proceeded to toss 2.1 shutout innings vs. the Lobos
- Had arguably his best performance of the year on March 28 at New Mexico
- Tossed a season-long 3.0 innings and matched his Texas Tech career high with four strikeouts vs. the Lobos
- Recorded a season-high four strikeouts twice: March 18 vs. No. 12 Oklahoma State and March 28 at New Mexico
- Ended 2023 with career bests in total strikeouts (24), ERA (5.50) and opposing batting average (.299)
2022 (Sophomore/3rd Yr.):
- Made eight appearances totaling 7.0 innings pitched
- Owned one win; earned Feb. 27 in the second game of a doubleheader played versus Kent State
- First career appearance as a Red Raider came during the opening weekend at Globe Life Field on Feb. 20 versus Arizona. Logged just 0.1 IP, but needed three pitches to strike out one batter in the performance
- Twice had outings of 2.0 IP, Feb. 27 vs. Kent State and March 5 vs. Merrimack, which matched for his longest appearances of the season
- During first career win against Kent State (Feb. 27), allowed zero hits and zero runs while striking out two and walking one in 2.0 innings of work
- Logged a season-high three strikeouts during March 5 Merrimack contest
