Tech to compete in Mary Nutter Classic this weekend

Tech will end its time in California against UC Riverside on Sunday 11 a.m. CT. All games will be streamed on FloCollegeSports.
Previously in Tech Softball:
After a scorching opening weekend on offense, the Red Raider bats cooled off a bit in the Clearwater Invitational. Tech still hit well, but not near what its potential could be before the end of the season. As Gerry Glasco works on putting a lineup together, expect several combinations of starters.
Glasco has yet to use the same lineup two games in a row this season and has played 14 players or more players in a game six times this season including four times this past weekend. This is a trend that will likely continue as Glasco used 57 different lineups in Tech's 68 games last season.
Kaitlyn "KT" Terry has been a force in all three phases of the game for the Red Raiders. She is hitting .480 with 5 RBI and has a 0.98 ERA with a 4-0 record through 21.1 innings of work. She also leads the team with 35 strikeouts and has walked just four batters on the season while having a 1.000 fielding percentage.
NiJaree Canady and Samantha Lincoln have made the Red Raiders starting three pitchers look unbeatable. Canady has a 1.57 ERA on the year and a 4-1 record with 28 strikeouts in 26.2 innings of work. Lincoln leads the team with a 0.78 ERA through 18.0 innings of work and has 16 strikeouts to her credit.
Â
The team's 64 runs on opening weekend shattered the previous record of 43 set in 2019. It is also more than the last two opening weekends run totals combined. It was also the most HRs on opening weekend for the Red Raiders (12) in program history.
