No. 16 Tech heads to Oklahoma State

LUBBOCK, Texas – The No. 16 Texas Tech Lady Raiders head to Stillwater, Okla., for a game against the Oklahoma State Cowgirls on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Gallagher-Iba Arena. The Cowgirls lead the all-time series, 41-35, winning the last 11 meetings. Last season, Oklahoma State defeated Tech in the Big 12 Tournament, 62-59, on March 7, 2025.
With the win against Kansas on Tuesday, head coach Krista Gerlich earned her 100th career win at the helm of the Lady Raiders (23-3, 10-3 Big 12). Coach Gerlich now totals 389 career wins in her head coaching career. She is one victory away from tying her win total as a player for Texas Tech (1989-93), when she tallied 101 over her four-year playing career under legendary head coach Marsha Sharp.
Among the group of Alabama, Baylor, Kentucky, Maryland, NC State, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, TCU, Tennessee, Texas Tech, West Virginia (ESPN's 4/5/6 seeds), Texas Tech (10-1) has the best record in games away from home (road/neutral). Texas Tech, West Virginia and Alabama are only ones with winning records in Quad 1 games.
Texas Tech is averaging 29.7 bench points per game, which is eighth in the nation and first in the Big 12. The Lady Raiders have totaled four games this season with 40+ bench points, with their highest point total coming against Wichita State after recording 49 points off the bench. Tech added seven more games to that with 30+ bench points, for a total of 11 games with 30 or more bench points this season. Snudda Collins leads the way as she totals 15.2 points per game, all off the bench. Jada Malone is just behind with 7.3 points per game.
In Tech's 12 Big 12 games so far, the team is led by Bailey Maupin with 16.5 points per game, followed by Collins with 16.3 and Jalynn Bristow with 8.5. On the rebounding side, Bristow leads the way with 5.3 per game, followed by Denae Fritz with 4.5 and Gemma Núñez with 4.2. Fritz and Núñez lead the team with 33 and 24 steals in conference play, respectively. Maupin posts a team-leading 29 threes, followed by Collins with 24 and Fritz with 22. In addition, Núñez leads the Lady Raiders with 61 assists and Malone leads the team with 23 offensive rebounds.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
The Oklahoma State Cowgirls are 19-7 overall and 8-5 in Big 12 play. They are 2-2 over the last four games, with wins over Arizona and UCF and losses against Kansas State and Arizona State. The Cowgirls average 84.2 points per game and are holding opponents to 62.7 points per game. Shooting 46.8 percent from the field, Oklahoma State also averages 39.0 rebounds per game and 17.8 assists per game. There are six Cowgirls who total double-figure scoring on the season – Micah Gray (15.2), Haleigh Timmer (12.5), Jadyn Wooten (12.0), Stailee Heard (11.6), Achol Akot (11.1) and Amari Whiting (10.2). On the rebounding side, Akot leads the way with 7.4 per game followed by Whiting with 5.8.
