ORLANDO, Fla. – Behind three singles wins and a doubles victory, the Texas Tech Lady Raiders continue to roll in conference after defeating the No. 59 UCF Knights, 4-2, on Saturday afternoon at the USTA National Campus.
The Lady Raiders (9-4, 2-0 Big 12) earned their 10th doubles point of the season after winning two of three matches against the Knights (3-7, 0-2 Big 12). No. 7-ranked Metka Komac and Avelina Sayfetdinova remain an undefeated 9-0 in dual doubles matches after beating Anique Kattenberg and Noel Saidenova at court one. The Lady Raider pair went up 4-2 thanks to a break and a hold, then held serve to win it by a 6-4 score.
UCF evened the score when Olivia Lincer and Mihaela Tsoneva defeated Andreea Lila and Jermine Sherif at court three, 6-4. It all came down to court two where Mariya Polishchuk and Cristina Tiglea were taking on Sophia Biolay and Jantje Tilbuerger. UCF took a 4-2 lead before the Lady Raider duo came back to even it at 4-4. The Knights were able to go up 5-4 after breaking Tech's serve, but the Lady Raiders broke UCF's serve right back to force a tiebreaker at 6-6. In the breaker, Polishchuk and Tiglea led the entire time, eventually claiming the match by a 7-6 (4) score to clinch the doubles point and push their dual doubles record to 9-2.

Over at court five, Komac extended the Lady Raider advantage after she overtook Tilbuerger in straight sets, 6-4, 6-2, for her fifth dual singles victory this year.
UCF was able to cut into the Tech lead after claiming wins at courts two and four to make it 3-2. But, the Lady Raiders prevailed after No. 59 Tiglea clinched the match with a 6-4, 6-2 victory at the top court to push Texas Tech to 2-0 in conference.
