
Strong finish powers Tech to win at Nebraska

Texas Tech won all four singles matches Wednesday
LINCOLN, Neb. – The Texas Tech women's tennis team snapped a two-match losing streak Wednesday afternoon, defeating the Nebraska Huskers 4-1 at the Dillion Tennis Center.
After losing the doubles point two and six, Texas Tech (8-6) cruised in singles winning all four singles contests that were completed. Tech won nine of 10 sets that were finished.
Metka Komac quickly tied the score for the Lady Raiders on court four, when she closed out a tidy 6-4, 6-0 victory.
With the score knotted at one, Tech took the lead for good, when Olivia Peet cruised to a three and two decision on court three.
No. 20 Margarita Skriabina brought Tech to within one team point of the overall victory with a straight-set victory (6-3, 6-3) on court one. The victory was Skriabina's first since Feb. 26 against Arizona and snapped a four-match winless streak. Skriabina is now 11-4 in singles action this spring.
Needing just one point to clinch the eighth victory of the season, Tech turned to Italian freshman Cristina Tiglea who closed out a clutch 6-2, 6-3 win on court six.
