Tech won all eight matches that finished and all six singles matches
LUBBOCK, Texas – In the first action in 19 days, the Texas Tech women's tennis program cruised to a 7-0 sweep over the University of Houston Friday afternoon at the McLeod tennis complex.
As she has all season, Russian Margarita Skriabina set the tone for Texas Tech (4-1).
Skriabina opened the day by teaming up with Cristina Tiglea for a tidy 6-2 doubles victory. The victory combined with an easy 6-1 victory by Kailey Evans and Avelina Sayfetdinova, cliched the doubles point for the Lady Raiders.
In singles action, Skriabina rolled past Maria Dzemeshkevich, as the Russian did not drop a game in her straight-sets victory. Skriabina improves to 7-1 in singles action on the young season.
Other singles play highlights included Olivia Peet contributing a one and three victory on court two, and Bojana Marinkov rolling to a pair of 6-0 victories on court six. Peet's win on court two sealed the overall match win for the Lady Raiders.
Tech won all six singles matches and both doubles matches that finished.
