LUBBOCK, Texas – The Lady Raider basketball team plays its first of four games in eight days before the holiday break this Sunday as it plays host to Houston Baptist at United Supermarkets Arena. Tipoff is set for noon on Fox Sports Southwest.

ABOUT THE LADY RAIDERS
Off to the program's best start in eight seasons, the Lady Raiders are hot entering Sunday afternoon's matinee against the Huskies, as one of 14 remaining undefeated teams in the country. Led by five starters averaging double figures and a , young, talented bench, Texas Tech has outscored five of its six opponents by 30 points or more.

The Lady Raiders are led by three top returners, including senior Brittany Brewer who has four games of 15+ points, 10+ rebounds and 5+ blocks this season. Additionally, sophomore point guard Chrislyn Carr is the conference leader in assists per game, and two-way junior Sydney Goodson who ranks in the top 20 in the Big 12 in scoring and rebounding, as well as third in steals.

Freshman Alexis Tucker and junior Jo'Nah Johnson lead the Lady Raider newcomers, both averaging in double-figure scoring. Fans will also get their first look at UConn transfer Lexi Gordon on Sunday as well.

EYEING THE OPPONENT
The Houston Baptist Huskies (4-4) come into Sunday's contest following a 72-65 road win over Louisiana-Monroe last Saturday. The Huskies have also tallied wins over Oral Roberts, Paul Quinn and LSU-Shreveport this season, and are 0-1 against Big 12 foes after a 112-42 loss at Baylor last month. Houston Baptist is led in scoring by Timia Jefferson at 10.8 points per game. Much like previous Tech opponents, the Huskies like to turn opponents over, averaging 20.5 turnovers forced per game led by Kennedy Wilson who averages 2.33 takeaways per game. Head coach Donna Finnie is in her seventh season at HBU.
