2019 Big 12 All-Freshman Team
FRESHMAN (2018-19)
In her first season with the Lady Raiders, Rush posted a 16-8 overall record, 14-7 when playing in dual matches... She primarily played at the No. 4 position, tallying an 11-2 record at the position... clinched nine of the matches for the Lady Raiders including the 4-3 win over No. 29 Oklahoma in the second round of the Big 12 tournament… Earned her first win over a ranked opponent when she defeated No. 70 Nina Khmelnitckaia (Kansas)… picked up her first Big 12 win when she defeated Ekaterina Repina (Iowa State)… went on a seven-match win streak from Feb. 10-March 23… posted a 5-2 record in the Big 12 and was named to the Big 12 All-Freshman Team… Played in only five doubles matches this season… FALL: went 5-3 in singles play, 4-5 in doubles play during the Fall competition… Defeated No. 9 Stacey Fung (Washington) at the ASU Thunderbird tournament in Tempe, Ariz… Advanced to the quarterfinals of the ITA Texas Regionals in doubles play with Francesca Sella.
HIGH SCHOOL/JUNIORS
A native of Romania, Stoica trains in Barcelona, Spain. She is in the WTA Top 1000 ranked players and has reached as high as 279 in ITF Juniors. While ranked No. 2 in the Romanian Junior Rankings, Stoica worked her way to the 2017 Romanian Junior Cup Championship and the ITF Oslo Runner-Up title.
