PRIOR TO TEXAS TECH
Spent his freshman year at Virginia Wesleyan University in Norfolk Virginia under coach Chris Francis … in his time at VWU he went 7-2 with a 1.96 ERA and recoded 60 strikeouts in 82.2 innings pitched … was awarded 2017 ODAC Rookie of the Year, 2017 All-State Second Team in Virginia, 2017 All-State Rookie of the Year and 2017 ABCA Second Team All-Region South … he then transferred to Seton Hill University in Greensburg, Pa., and played three years under coach Marc Marizzaldi … his first year at SHU he started 14 games and finished with a 4-3 record, 2.92 ERA and 78 strikeouts in 71 innings pitched … he pitched just four games in his sophomore and junior year due to a UCL injury suffered after three games in 2019 that required Tommy John surgery … he finished his career at SHU pitching 91.2 innings and recorded a 2.95 ERA, 108 strikeouts and a 4-4 record … chose Tech over Miami, Alabama, Auburn, Indiana, UCF and 34 other schools.
