Rankings
In the USTFCCCA Checkpoint No. 5 rankings, the Tech women stayed at No. 6, while the men's team slipped two spots to No. 13. The women's team has been ranked inside the top 10 all five weeks, ranking as high as No. 2 (week one).
Last Time Out
A limited number of Red Raiders traveled to Waco for the Michael Johnson Invite last weekend, with the majority being the pole vault and throws groups. Leah Howard won the javelin title for the women as Isaac Woodward claimed the title for the men. Stephen Mutai won the 800m with a time of 1:46.93, putting him 37th in the country.
In the Know
This meet will prove as the final tune-up before the Big 12 Outdoor Championships in a few weekends. Coming into the meet, the women's team boasts eighth top 10 marks in seven events, including the No. 1 mark in the high jump, thanks to Temitope Adeshina's clearance of 1.95m (6-4 ¾). Claire Lowrey is No. 4, clearing 1.88m (6-2) three weeks ago at the Texas Relays.
The men have five top 10 marks in five events. Without the altitude conversion, the 4x100 team has the fastest time in the country at 38.53 but the conversion of 38.65 puts them at No. 2 behind Arkansas' time of 38.62. Titus Kimaru's time of 8:18.26 in the 3k steeplechase is ranked No. 3 in the NCAA. Indoor triple jump national champion Jonathan Seremes is ninth in the county with only three outdoor attempts under his belt. His SB mark is 16.32m (53-6 ½).
