Red Raiders sweep UTRGV, NMSU on Saturday

LUBBOCK – The Texas Tech Red Raiders swept their competition during Saturday's doubleheader with wins over New Mexico State and UTRGV, 4-0, 4-0.
To open the doubleheader the Red Raiders began with a dominant start in doubles play with Felipe Pagnacco and Bautista Leguizamon taking down New Mexico State pair Thomas Duforets and Matias Rojas, 6-3, in their first pairing. Quickly following, Niksa Arsic and Thiago Guglieri defeat Holland Snell and Lance Urlaub, 7-5, in an intense set to clinch the doubles point for the Red Raiders. ON court two, play was left unfinished for Tyler Stewart and Sebastian Abboud at 5-5.
To continue their lead on Saturday, the Red Raiders continued their dominant performance in singles with a strong opening performance from Arsic on court one after he defeated Roko Stipetic with a perfect 6-0 set, followed shortly by a quick 6-4 set to extend the Red Raider lead to 2-0. On court five, Guglieri takes down Aggie Rojas, 6-2, 6-3, just after Stewart clinches the match on court two over Holland Snell, 6-4, 6-3 to give the Red Raiders their first sweep of the day.
Against UTRGV, the Red Raiders once again opened the match with a strong performance in doubles after duo Arsic and Guglieri take down Sam Whitehead and Will Roberts, 6-1, on court one, followed shortly by Thomas Van Den Dooren and Joseph Patton defeating Santiago Serrano and Loic Young Kreigel on court three, 6-2. Play was left unfinished on court two with Abboud and Stewart leading 5-0.
In singles, Guglieri takes his second singles win of the day on court five over Kriegel in straight sets, 6-1, 6-3. On court four Pagnacco takes his first win of the day over Roberts on court four in matching sets, 6-3, 6-3, shortly after Arsic takes down Ivo Isqueiro, 6-3, 6-1, on court one to clinch the match for the Red Raiders and round off the day with two sweeps.
