Red Raiders earn another win at home

LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech closed out its first day of competition this week with a 5-2 victory over the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns on Friday afternoon at the McLeod Tennis Center. After dropping the doubles point, the Red Raiders (5-2) responded with a dominant performance in singles play to secure the win.

Louisiana (2-3) claimed the early advantage by winning a match on court three in a quick set over Ludovico Vaccari and Thomas Van Den Dooren, 6-1. On court one, Niksa Arsic and Thiago Guglieri kept the set close, but ultimately fell by a 7-5 score against Mason Landreth and Leonard Tramolay.

The Red Raiders quickly shifted the momentum to their side in singles, winning five of the six singles matches. Felipe Pagnacco delivered one of the most decisive performances of the day with a 6-1, 6-1 victory on court four over Samuel Kyjaci. Arsic followed quickly after with a win on court one over Landreth, 6-1, 6-3, while Vaccari and Stewart added wins on courts two and three in matching 6-4, 6-4, sets. After the match was clinched, play continued on courts five and six with Sebastian Abboud securing another point for the Red Raiders in 6-4, 6-2 win against Darius Balan.
