No. 22 Lady Raiders head to California

LUBBOCK, Texas – The No. 22 Texas Tech Lady Raiders will head to Santa Barbara, Calif., to play the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos, Arizona Wildcats and Florida State Seminoles on Feb. 6-7. Tech will play Arizona first on Friday at 11 a.m. CT, before starting doubles against Florida State at 6 p.m. CT the same day. Singles against the Seminoles will continue at 11 a.m. CT on Saturday, then Tech will play a full match against the Gauchos at 3 p.m. CT.
Texas Tech (5-1) is coming off a 4-3 win against Oregon and a 7-0 sweep over Sam Houston last week. The Lady Raiders were led by freshman Kseniia Logvin, who earned her first career Big 12 Player of the Week award after going 4-0 overall. She leads the team in singles wins with 16 overall and ties for the team-lead with five dual wins. In doubles, No. 62 Yekaterina Dmitrichenko and Hailey Murphy lead the team with a 4-1 dual record, all at court one.
Tech leads the all-time series against UC Santa Barbara, 4-2, last beating the Gauchos by a 4-3 score on Feb. 15, 2025. The Lady Raiders lead the series against Arizona, 10-5, as they beat the Wildcats twice last season, clinching the Big 12 regular season title with a 4-1 win on April 13 in Lubbock. Tech and Florida State have only played once in program history as the Seminoles won that match, 7-2, on April 5, 1981.
Arizona is 4-2 on the year with wins over UC Davis, UC San Diego, Northern Arizona and UT Arlington. Their two losses were against USC and SMU. The Wildcats are led in dual singles wins by Martyna Ostrzygalo, Tanvi Narendran, Stephanie Shogreen and Josie Usereau with three. In dual doubles, the pairing of Shogreen and Usereau lead the team with a 3-0 record.
Florida State is 2-2 so far this season with wins against South Florida and Nevada. Their two losses came against UCF and Auburn. On the dual singles side, M.B. Deatherage leads the way with a 3-0 record. In dual doubles, Millie Bissett and Eva Shaw lead the Seminoles with a 3-0 record. Florida State also has two ranked singles players in Bissett (No. 82) and Shaw (No. 102).
UC Santa Barbara is also 2-2 this year, with wins over Utah and UC Davis and losses against USC and Iowa. In dual singles, the Gauchos are led by No. 100-ranked Ekua Youri with a 3-1 record all coming at court one. In dual doubles, the tandem of Isabella Wong and My-Anh Holmes lead the team with two wins.
