
Tech falls to No. 2 TCU

LUBBOCK, Texas – The No. 67 Texas Tech Red Raiders (12-9, 2-4 Big 12) came up short against the No. 2 TCU Horned Frogs (19-2, 7-0 Big 12) on Sunday afternoon, falling 4-1 in a tough Big 12 match-up.
To begin doubles, the Red Raiders duo of Takeyasu Sekiguchi and Tyler Stewart fell to TCU's Filip Alpauter and Lui Maxted, 6-2, on court three. Shortly after, the Red Raider duo of Niksa Arsic and Thiago Guglieri dropped their match on court two to Albert Pedrico and Duncan Chan, 6-3, giving TCU the doubles point.
Moving into singles, No. 22-ranked Maxted defeated Arsic on court two, 6-3, 6-1, in straight sets. However, Texas Tech broke through on court four as freshman Ludovico Vaccari delivered the lone point for the Red Raiders with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Pedrico — marking the first singles loss for TCU since their match against Arizona on March 21.
On court six, Felipe Pagnacco battled in the first set but ultimately fell to Chan, 6-4, 6-1, as TCU led 3-1. Then, No. 12-ranked Jack Pinnington defeated Piotr Pawlak, 6-3, 6-2, on court one securing a TCU victory.
Up next, the Red Raiders head to Waco to battle against the Baylor Bears on Thursday, April 10 at 6 p.m.
