At court three, Niksa Arsic and Thiago Guglieri cruised to a 6-2 victory over Eugenio Gonzalez and Denis Maijorov to get the first doubles win of the day. Clinching the doubles point for the second day in a row was the pairing of No. 80-ranked Piotr Pawlak and Sebastian Abboud against Alexander Mandma and Mathieu Josserand. The Red Raider duo led 3-2 before winning three consecutive games for a 6-2 victory.
San Diego State tied the match at 1-1 with a 6-4, 6-1 win at court three. Then, Arsic retook the lead for Tech with a third-set win at court two against Josserand. Arsic answered with a bagel in the third set, 6-0, to give Tech another point on the board.
Once again, the Aztecs tied the match, this time with a 6-2, 6-7 (2), 6-3 win at court five. But, the Red Raiders didn't let the tie last long as Ludovico Vaccari earned a gritty win over Marc Kleber at court four for the third point of the match. In set one, Vaccari put up a bagel, 6-0, before Kleber took set two, 6-4. In the third set, Vaccari went down 3-4 before rattling off three of the next four games to win it, 6-4.
The clinching point would come from Abboud at court six against Maijorov. Abboud and Maijorov went back-and-forth in the first set, tying 4-4 before Abboud won two straight games to win the set, 6-4. Maijorov evened it up with a 6-4 set of his own. Then in set three, Abboud jumped out to a 5-2 lead before the Aztec tied it at 5-all. Abboud would go on to hold and break serve for the 7-5 victory to clinch the win for Texas Tech.
