Lady Raiders ranked for first time since 2012

LUBBOCK, Texas – For the first time since 2012, the Texas Tech Lady Raiders found themselves ranked in the national polls. On Monday morning, the Lady Raiders checked in at No. 21 in the Associated Press Top 25 Women's Basketball poll. Then the next day, Texas Tech made its way into the USA Today Coaches Poll with a No. 23 ranking.
This marks the first time Tech has been nationally ranked since Jan. 16, 2012 (AP Poll) and Jan. 17, 2012 (Coaches Poll). Texas Tech is 14-0 on the season and one of 12 undefeated teams left in the nation.
The Lady Raiders are coming off a huge win against No. 15 Baylor in Waco, Texas. This is Tech's first ranked win since January 2024 and first top-15 win since February 2022. The Scarlet and Black snapped a 31-game losing streak to the Bears dating back to 2011 and earned their first win in Waco since 2004.
Checking in at No. 21 in the NET Rankings, the Lady Raiders' 24.0 scoring margin is good for 26th in the nation. Tech has outscored opponents by at least 20 points 10 times so far, while also outscoring six teams by 30+ points this year. The Lady Raiders have outscored three of the last five opponents by at least 30 points.
The Lady Raiders are led in scoring by both Bailey Maupin and Snudda Collins with 14.6 points per game. Jalynn Bristow is just behind with 13.6 points per game. Bristow also leads the way in rebounds (103) and blocks (29). Gemma Núñez is close to 100 assists this year, leading the Lady Raiders with 75 so far. She also boasts a team-high 36 steals, which ranks second in the Big 12.
