LUBBOCK, Texas – After helping Tech defeat No. 15 Baylor and Jacksonville to remain 14-0 on the season, senior Snudda Collins was named to the Big 12 Starting 5. This marks Collins' first weekly conference honor as a Lady Raider as well as third in her career (2x SEC Freshman of the Week; last on Jan. 5, 2021).
Against No. 15 Baylor, the Lady Raiders were led in scoring by Collins, who had 21 points, all off the bench with 17 of those coming in the second half. Collins, who was in foul trouble and played 19 minutes, went 6-for-12 from the field (.500) and a perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line. This marked Collins' 12th double-figure scoring game and second 20+ point game of the season.
Against Jacksonville, Collins scored nine points and added five rebounds to propel Tech to a victory in front of its first sellout crowd since 2006. Collins aided the Lady Raiders to their first win over Baylor since 2011, snapping a 31-game Bears winning streak. In addition, Texas Tech also picked up its first win in Waco since Feb. 8, 2004.
Collins currently ties for the team lead in scoring with 14.6 points per game. She is shooting 45.9 percent from the field and 42.9 percent from behind the arc. The Lady Raiders' next game is on Dec. 31 at the United Supermarkets Arena against the UCF Knights.
