Women’s Tennis Opens Big 12 Play This Weekend

Lady Raiders host two ranked opponents at the McLeod Tennis Center this weekend
LUBBOCK, Texas – The No. 16 Lady Raiders continue their homestand with the Big 12 opener against Kansas and Kansas State this weekend.
Texas Tech (10-3) kicks off conference action on Friday as they host No. 17 Kansas (9-4) for a 5 p.m. match. On Sunday, the Lady Raiders will face No. 31 Kansas State (11-4) at noon.

The Lady Raiders posted a 1-1 weekend after hosting Cornell and Georgia Tech. Texas Tech swept Cornell, 7-0, for the fifth straight sweep.
After falling behind 3-1 in the match on Sunday, the Lady Raiders tied it at 3-3 against No. 6 Georgia Tech. Junior Lana Rush forced a decisive third set, but Georgia Tech powered past to take the 4-3 win.
Kansas split the Big 12 openers, taking down No. 28 Baylor before falling to No. 12 Texas.
Kansas State enters the weekend with a 1-1 record in the Big 12. The Wildcats earned a 4-3 win over No. 28 Baylor on Friday before falling 4-0 to No. 12 Texas on Sunday. K-State will face TCU on Friday before heading to Lubbock.

The Lady Raiders head to Dallas for a neutral site match against Tulsa on Wednesday before facing TCU on Saturday.
