Doubles Duo Advances to ITA Regional Finals

Juniors Sarah Dvorak and Sabrina Federici play in regional final Monday morning

WACO, Texas – Juniors Sarah Dvorak and Sabrina Federici will represent Texas Tech in the final match of the ITA Texas Regional tournament.

The pair took down the no. 3 seed team of Rutuja Bhosale and Rachel Pierson from Texas A&M in three sets (6-4, 3-6, 10-3). They are set to face Baylor's Elizabeth Profit and Blair Shankle, the no. 5 seed, in the finals Monday morning.

Dvorak and Federici follow teammates Lynn Kiro and Alex Valenstein who won the regional title last fall.

In singles action, Gabriela Talaba fell in a three-set battle to Texas' Neda Koprcina (6-3, 4-6, 6-3).
