Alba Cortina-Pou Wins First Title as Lady Raider at OU Invitational

Freshman claims first title as a Red Raider

NORMAN, Okla. – Freshman Alba Cortina-Pou clinched the 2016 Oklahoma Fall Invitational flight two title with a two set victory over Tulsa's Martha Matoula (6-3, 6-3).

This weekend marked her first title win as a Red Raider.

Freshman Reagan Collins claimed the Flight Two Consolation bracket title with a comeback win in the finals over North Texas' Haruka Sasaki (4-6, 7-5, 6-2).

Senior Lynn Kiro defeated Alexis Thoma of North Texas in an extra match (6-0, 3-6, 6-4) while Katelyn Jackson fell in two sets in the extra match play.

Four Lady Raiders will represent Texas Tech at the Riviera/ITA All-American Championships starting Tuesday morning in Pacific Palisades, Calif. Alex Valenstein was selected for the Main Draw of the tournament while Gabriela Talaba, Sarah Dvorak and Felicity Maltby we named to the qualifying rounds.
