Texas Tech Softball Visits UMC Children's Hospital

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech softball team visited UMC Children's Hospital on Thursday evening, delivering candy and team calendars to patients in an effort to give back to the Lubbock community.
The Red Raiders went room to room in small groups visiting patients ranging from newborns to pre-teens, while also delivering treats and talking with different family members.
Trips such as this are an important aspect for not only the Texas Tech Athletics Department but also the Red Raiders softball program and head coach Shanon Hays. The Red Raiders will be making additional stops in the Lubbock community as the year progresses.
The visit came hours after Tech defeated Odessa College, 16-2, in fall ball action. The Red Raiders face Howard at 2 p.m. this afternoon at Rocky Johnson Field.
