OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - No stranger to bad weather and delays this year, the Red Raiders will wait until tomorrow to begin the Big 12 tournament. The updated schedule finds Tech facing OSU at 11:30 a.m.
Weather in the Oklahoma City area has been extremely stormy over the past several days, in fact, much of the region has been in flood watch alert since Sunday. Thursday morning began in promising fashion, but at about 3 p.m. as teams were just beginning to arrive at the ASA Hall of Fame Stadium significant rainfall began and when the first of the rain subsided, outfield areas on both the main field and secondary field were quickly determined to be unplayable this afternoon.
Tickets for the event which have already been purchased will be honored for tomorrow's schedule.
Changes to the schedule at this point are as follows:
Friday, May 11, No. 7 seed Kansas vs. No. 10 seed ISU at 11 a.m. on the main field. No. 8 Texas Tech vs. No. 9 OSU at 1:30 on field 4.
At 1:30 p.m. No. 3 seed Missouri vs. No. 6 seed Texas on the main field, while at 2 p.m. No. 4 seed Texas A&M faces No. 5 Nebraska on field 4.
At 4:30 No. 2 seed Oklahoma will square off with the KU/ISU winner and will still be on the main field and will be the FSN televised game of the day.
At 7 p.m. No. 1 seed Baylor will face the winner of the TTU/OSU matchup from the 11:30 a.m. game. Action for that game is slated for the main field.
Saturday's schedule is expanded to include two additional games, both at 11 a.m. utilizing both fields, in an attempt to keep the 3 p.m. championship game on track.
Rain is expected in the area throughout the weekend and this Web site will be updated in the event the schedule is adjusted further.
