AUSTIN, Texas - AUSTIN, Texas - Jacqueline Williams' first-inning grand slam highlighted a six-run Longhorn first inning as No. 18 Texas pounded Texas Tech, 11-1, in Big 12 action in the first of a doubleheader at McCombs Field. Texas improves to 30-16, 5-9, while Tech dropped to 18-24, 1-10.
Sarah Losleben took the loss and fell to 5-10 on the season as the junior gave up eight runs (seven earned) on five hits and three walks. Meagan Denny picked up the win for the Longhorns and moved to 19-13 on the season. Rachel Wheeler came on to relieve Losleben, and gave up three runs on two hits. The freshman right hander struck out one but issued seven walks on the evening.
Robyn Wike provided the Red Raiders only offensive highlight with a home run in the fifth. Ashley Parker and Heather Parker managed the only other hits off the Longhorns in the mercy-rule shortened six inning game.
