AUSTIN, Texas - No. 18 Texas beat Texas Tech in game two of a Big 12 doubleheader, as the Longhorns scored six runs on 11 hits. Texas improved to 31-16, 6-9, while the Red Raiders fall to 18-25, 1-11.
Ashly Jacobs (13-14) went the distance for the Red Raiders as the freshman struck out three and walked none.
Ashley Parker was three-for-four and freshman Leah Legler singled twice to lead the offense which came to life for eight hits in the second game of the evening doubleheader. Whitney Riley doubled and Brooke Neuman and Jennifer Bowers chipped in with singles.
Texas Tech moves down the road to College Station for a weekend seriers with No. 6 Texas A&M. Games will be broadcast via the Texas A&M softball Web site, beginning Saturday at 1 p.m. and Sunday at noon.
