
Three Advance on Day Two at NCAA Track

Sacramento, Calif. - Texas Tech track and field ended day two of competition at the NCAA Championships with three athletes advancing to the next rounds of their events. Day three of the event will begin at 10 a.m. on Friday.
Sabrina Taylor concluded her freshman campaign with a mark of 20'-5.75" in the finals of the long jump. Taylor earned a 10th-place finish for her efforts and All-American honors due to international athletes placing in the top eight.
Althea Chambers will be running in the finals of the 800M on Saturday after running a 2:05.53 in the semis on Thursday. Chambers automatically advanced with her third-place heat finish. The finals of the event will be broadcast live on CBS on Saturday.
Bryan Scott and Shawon Harris found success in the 400M hurdles prelims. The pair both qualified for the semis of the event that will be contested on Friday. Scott was second in his heat with a season-best clocking of 50.26 and automatically advanced. Harris advanced on his prelim time of 50.79.
Jamie Robinson marked a throw of 191'-5" in the javelin and missed qualifying for the finals of the event.
Marlon Odom and Sage Thames, in his final event as a Red Raider, will compete in the finals of the 110M hurdles and pole vault, respectively, on Friday.
