
Red Raiders Fall to Cyclones in Ames

AMES, Iowa - In their second to last road match of the 2006 season, the Texas Tech Red Raiders fell at Iowa State by a 3-1 score. The Red Raiders picked up game one but dropped the next three to lose to the Cyclones. Iowa State defeated Tech by scores of 25-30, 30-20, 30-26, 30-25 to improve to 19-8 overall, 11-6 Big 12. The Red Raiders now drop to 11-15 overall with a 4-13 conference record.
Texas Tech hit .145 on the night with 58 kills and 34 errors on 165 total attempts. The Cyclones out-hit the Red Raiders as they accumulated a .260 percentage on the night. Iowa State tallied 66 kills and 26 errors on 154 total attempts.
For the Red Raiders, Amy Charlebois and Philister Sang each recorded 13 kills on the night, with Charlebois doing so on .300 hitting. Splitting setting duties were Emily Ziegler and Holly Hicks, as Ziegler notched 31 assists with Hicks adding 16. Jenn Harrell led in digs with 16 and Sang completed a double-double by adding 13. Charlebois set a season team-high mark for blocks in a match with 12 (1 solo, 11 assisted).
