Bears Defeat Tech 3-2 in Lubbock

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech Red Raiders dropped their second five-game match to the Baylor Bears on Saturday at the United Spirit Arena. The Bears defeated the Red Raiders 3-2 by scores of 30-21, 22-30, 30-26, 20-30, 15-12. The loss marks the third straight for Tech and drops them to 11-14 overall and 4-12 in conference play. Baylor is now 17-12, 5-11 Big 12.
Baylor out-hit Tech .244 to .204, with the Bears hitting .500 in the first game and the Red and Black having their best performance in the second game with a .406 percentage. Tech tallied 60 kills with 27 errors on 162 total attempts, with Baylor hitting 73 kills with 32 errors on 168 attempts.
Kiley Lyons led Tech with a double-double, recording 11 kills and 12 digs. Philister Sang led in kills with 17, while adding nine digs. Amy Charlebois registered eight kills and eight blocks, with one solo and seven assisted. Alicia Ostmeyer had 10 kills on the night with four block assists. Robyn Bucy recorded significant playing time and put down two solo blocks and five assisted blocks. Emily Ziegler led in assists with 28, and Holly Hicks added 20.
