Lawrence, Kan. - The Kansas Jayhawks proved too much for Red Raider volleyball in Lawrence, Kan., tonight, as they shut out Tech, 3-0. The Red and Black fall to 11-16 and 4-12 in Big 12 action. The Jayhawks secured the match by scores of 30-26, 30-25, 30-22.
Tech and KU were matched in the offensive stat line as the Red Raiders hit .205 (43 kills, 20 errors, 112 attempts) and the Jayhawks hit .218 (47 kills, 21 errors, 119 attempts). The major difference was Kansas' nine service aces to Tech's one. The Red and Black also had to battled back against nine service return errors to the Jayhawks' one.
Philister Sang shouldered the offense with 21 kills and chipped in on defense with 10 digs. The match marks her ninth double-double of the season. Emily Ziegler and Holly Hicks shared the duties at setter. Ziegler led with 22 and Hicks added 14.
The Red Raiders continue the road trip with a stop in Austin, Texas to face the Longhorns, on Wed., Nov. 16.
