LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech Head Softball Coach Bobby Reeves announced, today, the hiring of former Oklahoma standout Jennifer Stewart as an assistant coach for the Lady Raider Softball program.
"Jennifer is a tremendous addition to this university and its softball program," said Bobby Reeves. "To have someone with her talent and softball background is great for us and we are confident she will make a big impact on our pitching staff."
Stewart, who helped lead the Oklahoma Sooners to the 2000 national championship, will take over as pitching coach on the Lady Raider staff and will occupy an assistant's position held last year by Jenny Kohler. Stewart comes to Texas Tech after a year long stint at Coastal Carolina where she served in the same capacity.
She was the MVP of the 2000 Women's College World Series and helped lead Oklahoma to its first softball national title. During her career at OU she was a two-time All-American and is the all-time career leader in victories, winning percentage, appearances, games started and innings pitched.
