Two Lady Raiders Named to NFCA Midwest All-Region Team

LUBBOCK, Texas - After being named All-Big 12 performers a week ago, Texas Tech softball senior Elyssa Sigala and junior Kelly Rhyne were named to the NFCA All-Midwest Region team this week.
Sigala, a senior from Salinas, Calif., finished out her Texas Tech career in style, leading the Lady Raiders in batting average (.344), home runs (11) and RBI (35). She was honored last week by being selected to the All-Big 12 second team as well as being named Big 12 Player of the week on March 9th.
A Coppell, Texas, native, Rhyne posted a strong season after leading the Lady Raiders in most offensive categories in 2003. The junior outfielder hit .339 for the season and slammed three home runs with 27 RBI in route to being honored as first team All-Big 12.
