Floren Shoots Second Round 69 to Pace Tech

LUBBOCK, Texas - Sophomore Oscar Floren paced the Red Raiders with a second round 69 at the Carpet Capital Collegiate in Rock Face, Ga. The Texas Tech men's golf team, who finished in 14th, wrapped-up day two at The Farm Club golf course with a two-round score of 615.

Floren finished the day with a tie for seventh-place, moving up 39 spots from his first round showing of tied for 46th. Floren currently holds a two-round score of 147. Nicolas Allain, who tabbed a second-day 74, finished the day in a tie for 27th with a 151 total to wrap up the Red Raiders in the top 30.

Following Allain is junior Andrew Dresser and senior Shaun Melville in a tie for 60th and 78th, respectively. Dresser (78-78-156) along with Melville (81-80-161) both struggled today each dropping from their first-place standings on the individual leaderboard. Rounding out the last of the Red Raiders is junior William Haddrell (82-84-166) in a tie for 86th.

No.3 Georgia remains the overall team leader at the Carpet Collegiate with a two-day score of 587 followed by No.15 Wake Forest in second with 593. Rounding out the top five are No.1 Georgia Tech (595-third), No.4 New Mexico (597-fourth) and No.36 Florida (600) in fifth.

The Red Raiders will continue action at The Farm Club Golf Course (Par 72, 6,906 yards) in Rock Face, Ga., with a 9:30 a.m. start tomorrow. The 54-hole will conclude tomorrow with the final 18 holes. Tournament scores and rankings can be found live on Golfstat.com.
