Tech in Sixth After Two Rounds

LUBBOCK, Texas - The No.24 Texas Tech men's golf team stands in sixth-place with a score of 622 after two rounds at The Prestige in La Quinta, Calif. Senior Shaun Melville leads all Tech golfers carding a 73-77 opening two rounds to finish in a tie for sixth-place individually.
Following the senior is junior Andrew Dresser posting a 154 two-round score. Dresser stands in a tie for 15th after struggling in the first-round shooting an 80 before rebounding back into the top 20 with a second-round 74. Nicolas Allain, junior, turned in a tie for 32nd firing opening rounds of 77-80-157. William Haddrell finished the day in a tie for 52nd, tabbing an opening day performance of 81-80-161. Rounding out the Red Raider effort is freshman Tyler Symons in 77th with scores of 81-89-170.
Leading the 16-team field is UC-Davis in first with a first-day score of 609. Rounding out the top five are UCLA (610-second), host UC-Irvine (612-third), Kansas (618-fourth) and TCU (621) in fifth.
