Tech Golf In 10th After Two Rounds

LUBBOCK, Texas - After two rounds at the Bear Ridge Golf Club in Waco, Texas the men's golf team is in 10th place after shooting 593 (296,297) today at the Baylor Intercollegiate. Tech is coming off a fourth place finish at the William H. Tucker Intercollegiate in Albuquerque, N.M.
Tech's top three finishers are making their first appearance of the season. Sophomore Andrew Dresser is leading the Red Raiders in a tie for fourth place heading into the final round. Today he shot 69, 72 to cap the day with a three-under par 141. Junior Chris Pace, in his first appearance as a Red Raider, finished the day at seven-over par 151.
Sophomore William Haddrell and Freshman Oscar Floren are both tied for 51st with 153 strokes with Haddrell recording rounds of 73 and 80 and Floren shooting 77,76. Sophomore Jonathon Lenz rounds out the Raiders competing for the team with a 36-hole score of 154 (79,75) to tie at 57th.
As an individual, Casey Jones is second on the team heading into round three tied for 30th after shooting 77, 71.
Baylor is leading the 14-team field with a score of 573. The top five teams include LSU, Lamar, Southeastern Louisiana, and a fifth place tie between Wichita State and Texas-San Antonio. Iowa State is in seventh place with SMU and Arkansas-Little Rock close behind in an eighth place tie. Texas Tech, North Texas, Miami (OH), Rice and Sam Houston State round out the field.
The final round of play will begin tomorrow at 7:15 on the 7,250-yard, par 72 course.
