
Men's Golf in Fourth After Two Rounds

LUBBOCK, Texas - The men's golf team shot 562 yesterday to place in fourth at the Fresno State Lexus Golf Classic in Fresno, California. The team is within 10 strokes of Colorado State who is leading the 15-team field with score of 552.
Sophomore Andrew Dresser and junior Chris Pace are in a 10-way tie for eighth place. Dresser shot a career-tying low 68 and improved to 72 to finish at four-under par on the day. Pace was consistent shooting 70 both rounds.
Sophomore William Haddrell is tied for 18th after shooting 141 (73,68) yesterday. Close behind is sophomore Erik Stenman, tied for 25th, who shot 71 both rounds while junior Shaun Melville is tied for 35 with an even par score of 144 (72,72). Sophomore Casey Jones is in a 67th place tie after shooting a round one 76 and a round two 73.
The top five teams include Colorado State, No. 15 Brigham Young, No. 50 San Diego State, No. 36 Texas Tech and No. 32 Denver. UTEP, Fresno State, Louisiana-Monroe, Nevada and Wyoming round out the top five. San Jose State, No. 48 Pacific, Long Beach State, CSU-Northridge and No. 34 Utah round out the teams competing on the par-72 Belmont Country Club Course.
