Men's Golf Finishes in Fourth at William H. Tucker

LUBBOCK, Texas - In its first appearance of the year, Tech secured a fourth place finish today at the William H. Tucker in Albuquerque, N.M. Tech shot an 882 (289,290,303), 17 strokes behind of tournament winner Arizona State. Tech finished round two in third and fell to fourth after a high last round of 303, 15-over par. Tech was the Big 12's strongest team with Tech finishing one stroke ahead of Texas A&M.
Sophomore William Haddrell was Tech's top finisher with a third place finish (70, 67, 77). Haddrell, of London, England, logged three career numbers including best finish, lowest round and lowest score. Freshman Oscar Floren finished in a tie for 11th after shooting 217 (72, 73, 72).
Junior Shaun Melville shot a 223 (72, 73, 78) to finish in a 40th place tie. Freshman Jonathan Lenz tied for 62 after shooting a 228 (75, 77,76). Sophomore Erik Stenman finished in 98th after shooting a 237 (77, 82,78).
Tech will continue play Sept. 29-30 at the Baylor Intercollegiate in Waco, Texas.
