LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech softball coach Bobby Reeves announced today that Julie Hauck, a freshman pitcher at Florida State, will transfer to the Lady Raider program and begin competition in the upcoming academic school year.
Hauck, one of the most highly decorated high school players to ever commit to Texas Tech, appeared in four games for the Seminoles in 2003, registering a 2.62 ERA and a 1-0 record. In eight innings of work on the season, she struck out seven and walked two. The Seminoles finished the season with a 46-11 record, including an unblemished 8-0 mark in ACC play.
A native of Yukon, Okla., Hauck attended Yukon High School, where she was a first-team all-state member and YHS Female Athlete of the Year in 2002. Additionally, she was named the 2001 Big All-City Player of the Year and the 2000 Gatorade Player of the Year. Hauck earned four varsity letters in softball and was the youngest pitcher in school history to pitch YHS to a state championship.
