Lady Raider Tennis Team Struggles At ASU Thunderbird Invitational

TEMPE, Ariz. - The Texas Tech Lady Raider tennis team struggled in first-round action of the Arizona State Thunderbird Inviational as the ladies came away victorious in just two singles matches on the day.
The biggest dissapointment of the day came early on as the third-seeded doubles duo of Irina Tereschenko and Beverly Dawson were upset by conferences foes Sedlmajerova/Simosa of Kansas State 8-3. In other doubles action, the team of Kendall Brooks and Tara Browning were defeated by second-seeded Jacobs/Scheldt of California.
In the singles draw, the Lady Raiders didn't fare much better as Irina Tereschenko was the only player to win her first-round set but was defeated in the next round by Mhairi Brown of Arizona State.
Action at the Arizona State Thunderbird Invitational gets underway at 8:30 a.m. (MT) on Saturday.
